Once upon a time...

I used to receive postcards almost every week.
This nice old couple my mom knew sent them.
They traveled the world while I sat at home and watched Fern Gully.
I miss those days.

Narnia

I am a sucker for fantasy.
I've loved Harry Potter since the first book came out.
I've read more Tolkien than I can remember.
I've grown up with the fairy tales.
And now the second Narnia movie has come out.
So go see it.
You'll get sucked in.

best worst day

home, again.
sorry for the abrupt goodbye.
if I had my way, for once I would say I would have opted not to be in new york.

but hey, I got to take pictures, lurk my neighborhood, and have my first guitar lesson.  Things could be worse.
It was the best worst day in a long time.

Here's hoping

I won't need to use this map anytime soon.
(Me and Joe used to write notes to each other
during history class.)
And hey, if you were stuck being lectured to for
three hours, you'd pass notes too.

pre-summer blues

I was out of your league.
And you were 20,000 underneath the sea
Waiving affections
You were out of my league
At a distance that I didn't wanna see
Down to the bottom

I wanted a junction and often there was one
You'd surface face first and we'd share our thought bubbles
And I still believe in the phrases that we breathed
But I know the distance isn't fair to cross

I was out of your league
And you were 20,000 underneath the sea
Waiving Affections
You were out of my league
At a distance that I didn't wanna see
Wanted you nearer

Predictable

I'm back to hating Florida.
I've been here for about two days.
I miss my filth.
I miss New York.
I miss New York.
I miss New York.

leave your mark

Sand
Sun
Salt water

Sand
Sun
Salt water

Sand
Sun
Salt Water

running around in the sea foam and waves, you'll find me on an island of isolated fantasy. And as the rays beat down on our bare backs, we'll remember how good it felt to be surrounded by skyscrapers.

thanks for visiting.

vicious cycles

Depending on how you look at things, life is either a series of hellos or a series of goodbyes.
So which are you, the optimist or the pessimist?

I suppose in this situation, I'm a bit of both.
I keep leaving, but I always look back.

Miss you already.

17 Bleecker

More than most places in New York, I'm missing my friend's coffee shop.  We manage to stay there hours past closing time and never know the difference.
At 5 am this morning all I wanted was caffeine. That, and another insomniac.

Two things New York has a constant supply of : caffeine and insomniacs. Because they obviously go hand in hand.

I'm missing my friends, school, New York in general. I like the idea of leaving but not so much the reality of it. Oh well. It's a much needed life break.

Some shots I've had time to edit for Irene in the past few days:

the walk home

There's a place in my dreams
Where the lights beat down hard
And we walk hand in hand
   Without worrying who follows
