A very happy birthday.

Franny, in transit, ignored the telephone in the hall.
She evidently preferred to take the longish walk
down the hall to her parent's bedroom,
where the more popular phone in the apartment was located.
Although there was nothing markedly peculiar about her gait
as she moved through the hall-
she neither dallied nor quite hurried-
she was nonetheless very peculiarly transformed as she moved.
She appeared, vividly, to grow younger with each step.
Possibly long halls,
plus the aftereffects of tears,
plus the ring of a telephone,
plus the smell of fresh paint,
plus newspapers underfoot-
possibly the sum of all these things was equal,
for her, to a new doll carriage.
In any case,
by the time she reached her parents' bedroom door
her handsome tailored tie-silk dressing gown-
the emblem, perhaps, of all that is dormitorially chic and fatale-
looked as if it had been changed
into a small child's woollen bathrobe.

Hey darlings,
My birthday has officially come and gone
and I learned an important lesson from it.
Don't expect anything, because you never know
which way life will turn.
It's weird, but a new chapter is starting
and I'm not sure if I'm ready to jump into it with both feet.
But I suppose that's what the summer was made for.
Hope you're all doing well.
I'm going back to the never-ending party.

Help!

I walked through the wildwood, and what did I see
But a unicorn with his horn stuck in a tree,
Cryin', "Someone please help me before it's too late."
I hollered, "I'll free you." He hollered back, "Wait-
How much will it hurt? How long will it take?
Are you sure that my horn will not scratch, bend, or break?
How hard will you pull? How much must I pay?
Must you do it right now or is Wednesday okay?
Have you done this before? Do you have the right tools?
Have you graduated from horn-savin' school?
Will I owe you a favor? And what will it be?
Do you promise that you will not damage the tree?
Should I close my eyes? Should I sit down or stand?
Do you have insurance? Have you washed your hands?
And after you free me-tell me what then?
Can you guarantee I won't get stuck again?
Tell me when. Tell me how.
Tell me why. Tell me where. . . ."
I guess that he's still sittin' there.

I can't wait to dance at my party.

Endless.

A wonderful email was waiting for me in my inbox this morning,
telling me that the new Luella site was up and running!
It's as wonderful as you would expect it to be, if not more.
Only, I'm left with yet another fashion obsession to add
to what seems like a never-ending pile.

These are some of the pieces offered on the site. ..

Helmut Lang's  F/W 2009 collection is simply beautiful.

Kenzo's F/W 2009 Collection has the most stunning prints and silhouettes.

Alright my dears,
I hope you're all well.
I'll be very busy in the next couple of days
because my birthday is on Friday!
Love you all.
