the wood between the worlds

He was standing by the edge of a small pool-

not more than ten feet from side to side- in a wood.

The trees grew close together and were so leafy 

that he could get no glimpse of the sky.

All the light was green light that came through the leaves:

but there must have been a very strong sun overhead,

for this green daylight was bright and warm.

It was the quietest wood you could possibly imagine.

There were no birds, no insects, no animals, and no wind.

You could almost feel the trees growing.

The pool he had just got out of was not the only pool.

There were dozens of others- 

a pool every few yards as far as his eyes could reach.

You could almost feel the trees drinking the water up with their roots.

This wood was very much alive.

a history lesson

My winter holiday is almost over.

I've enjoyed taking all these random

life photos though, so if I get the time, 

I think I'll keep it up.

I decided to spend the day

 at the museum of natural history,

because really, the dinosaur bones get lonely

if they're not visited every now and then.

Carey Mulligan is brilliant, this film is brilliant, 

if you haven't seen it by now, do so immediately. 

I loved the styling in this movie. 

It makes me want dance to old records

in a mini skirt and a beehive.

life inside of a snow globe

As the days have grown cold and windy,

I've taken to hibernating inside the warmth

of the Met, Whitney, and Moma museums.

and when I'm home, I like to pretend I can be 

swallowed up in the snow storm that dances

inside my snow globe.

Just saw The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus last night.

This movie has been drawing quite a bit of attention,

as it was the last film Heath Ledger worked on before he died.

The movie itself was insanely visual. 

It's filled with an imagination of other worlds, 

a dying but immortal magic, and a deal with the devil.

And though bits and pieces were somewhat haphazard,

I'd tell everyone to go see it pronto!

It's only playing in new york and los angeles right now,

sooo if you happen to be in either, 

go on and buy your ticket.

two thousand ten

This is a year to stir things up.

I can feel it.

After all, how often do new years start with a full blue moon?

So this will be a year 

filled with more fairy tales,

and turning the inside world 

into an enchanted forest.

I want to live here, and here, and here.

and use all this:
