ina photography

Every week starts the same. Some weird song starts playing at an ungodly hour (10.30am on mondays) to wake me up, I scramble out the door to make it to class on time (I always manage to arrive early and never know how), and walk down the halls to be greeted by a wonderful display of student work. Don't get me wrong, some of it isn't so wonderful. But I've been lucky with my choice of halls and came across these ones today. To check out more, go to inaphotography.com

The New Vicious Cycle

seems a lot like the cycle I got myself into a few years ago.
music.
Years ago the Boston music scene took me over, body and soul.
I'm still young now, but I was younger then, and didn't so much mind the insanity of it all.
But now I am finding myself at shows every week and I can't help but feel an intense sense of déjà vu.
My excuse? At least I'm getting some interesting photos out of the deal...

Erin Fetherston

Fall 08-Spring 09 Collections.
Her looks for fall are genius. Her pairing of fabric textures and bold colors are my inspiration for fall. I'm so beyond ecstatic that it's finally getting colder out. And I won't mind spring if every look can be as whimsical as these.

I'm late for everything. I'll write more later!

Katie Nicole Photography

First and foremost, I have to apologize for my almost week long absence. I've been super busy with school and traveled upstate this past weekend for a photo shoot. Overall, it's been a productive and chaotic week all tied into one big organized mess. So, getting back to school, I found these beauties presented in one of the galleries. Katie Nicole(www.myspace.com/xpress_life) has a show at the 21st building of SVA, on September 25 starting at 6.30. If you're in New York, I would highly recommend checking out her amazing series! Hope you're well.

Pretty Things Part 2

"She was still hugging the cat. "Poor Slob," she said, tickling his head, "poor slob without a name. It's a little inconvenient, his not having a name. But I haven't any right to give him one: he'll have to wait until he belongs to somebody. We just sort of took up by the river one day, we don't belong to each other: he's an independent, and so am I. I don't want to own anything until I know I've found the place where me and things belong together. I'm not quite sure where that is just yet. But I know what it's like." She smiled, and let the cat drop to the floor. "It's like Tiffany's," she said."

-Truman Capote. excerpt from Breakfast at Tiffany's

I feel like we are described in songs and have become characters in novels. And we're going to keep going, chapter after chapter, note to note, and never know how the other one feels.

Pretty Things Part 1

I own this book about American Burlesque called, "Pretty Things", by Liz Goldwyn. The book is full of the most amazing photographs dating back to the twenties. I originally bought it for ideas on new poses for models, but keep going back to it for inspiration. Anyway, there are so many lovely things in this book that I decided to post several blogs about it. Hope you're all well!

Death Series Part Two

Although most of the shoot was done in black and white, I had to work on the color shots first. I hated the fact that I had to think clearly at dawn to get these right, but it was worth every sleepy second. There's four more roles of film to print from, so I'll be posting them as the week goes on. Hope you all had a good Monday and I'll try to write back to everyone soon soon soon!
