Goodbye, again.

Things will be pretty hectic for the next few days since I have to get back into my New York schedule. I'm anxious to be back with my real life and be with all of my friends. I'm not a fan of going to places though. The whole transition period bums me out. I just like being in a place, not moving or unpacking. Just being.

Also, I think it's ironic that I'm waiting to get back to New York to calm down and stop going out so much. Goodbye, summer.

Productive?

Ended up squeezing in a photo shoot yesterday as planned.
I had the idea to use all of these vintage masks and dresses I own and  incorporate them into a shoot. This is the first time I got to do an actual shoot with Kayla in over a year so it was a fun afternoon. Some more photos from this shot are posted on my flickr. Take a look!

Bonjour, Jeanne.

My dad and I share a love for foreign films. He's one of the only people I know who doesn't mind sitting down to an old movie with subtitles. I woke up this morning to find one of our favorite french films, The Bride wore Black, next to my bed. Jeanne Moreau plays the lead, and does so in such a mysterious and charming way that I believe only she could pull off. Go watch it. In other news, I'm trying to pull together a last minute photo shoot for this afternoon. If anything comes of it, the pictures will find their way here. I leave summer behind me and permanently move back to Manhattan on Saturday. Although most everything is still packed in boxes, I feel completely disorganized. Hopefully, I collect myself in time.

Arthur Spiderwick's Field Guide

To the Fantastical World Around You

So yesterday was a pretty normal day. Got back into my routine of roaming around town, coffee run, life chats....
I decided to make a stop in a local art store and found this bit of treasure hiding in the book stand.
I grabbed it and purchased it immediately. Have you seen the movie? Or read the books? If you haven't, then you should.
It's the perfect balance between fantasy and reality thrown into the same world.
I am absolutely in love with this book, but I have plans for it and its future and soon to be new owner.

Banksy, you're a dreamer.

Thanks to one of my friends, I have recently
become a huge fan of the graphic artist, Banksy.
I'm usually not very inspired by graffiti and street art
but his internationally acclaimed work
is worth looking into.
Click here to view his website.
(and I recommend looking into his art books)

Little island, dance with me.

I spent the night on the island.
we wore feathers in our hair and paint on our faces.
We claimed land and watched the stars.
And after all of it, the photos are the only thing
reminding me that it wasn't a dream.
                                                                              Be my reality always.

Happy Saturday

This is very sporadic.
I rummaged through my old photo archives and thought these were the best.
We're going upstate today and sleeping on an island.
I decided to dress up like an indian and go wild.

I'm a girl

obsessed.
I just found a magazine article and spread of
Marilyn Manson and Lily Cole.
I absolutely can not wait for his movie to come out.
Phantasmorgia:The Visions of Lewis Carroll
go look it up.

Anyway, another night out.
Another insane party.
Another never ending story.

Conclusion.

I'm in a vicious end of summer cycle.
I go out too much.
I don't come home until noon the next day.
I don't sleep enough.
Hopefully I get this out of my system before school starts again.
Anyway, thanks to those who left me suggestions for the skirt.
I ended up turning it into a dress.
What do you think?

Sew so.

I found in my closet a vintage skirt and blouse.
The skirt is too long and the shirt is too big.
Any suggestions?

Children of the Corn

We stayed out all night.
We slept the day away.
And then, we picked flowers and ran through a corn field.
Happy Monday.

The Best

so far. I have a box full of stacks of polaroids. I decided to go through them all and pick out my favorites. I'm going to cry when the day comes that I can't find film any longer. It's the easiest (and probably the most fun) way to create a memory.

1.View from my old apartment.
2. A photo of my mom in the 90s.
3. me and my best friend in new york.
4. St Patrick's Day.
5. View from my friend's apartment stairwell.
6. Ice storm upstate.
7. walkway in east village.
8. I'm not really sure...
9. Waiting for the train in Brooklyn.

Back to the country.

Back in May, I stole one of my friend's red and black checked plaid flannel shirt.I wore it all over New York, even in the 70 degree weather. I went upstate wearing it and was informed that it was "very country".I didn't agree because I was under the impression that plaid was making a fashion comeback. Well, I was right. I just received my September issue of Harper's Bazaar and the ads were littered with country revival. So now I can wear my plaid in peace.
