Have you ever seen Richard Linklater's movie, "Waking Life"?
There's a part in it where one character explains how our personalities change every seven years and we completely recreate ourselves. This is not a new idea. Truman Capote described it in Breakfast at Tiffany's. The thing I love about that book is how much of himself he put into the plot and his characters.
I've been obsessing over his life for the entire summer. If you ever want to read up on his life, I suggest the book written about his Black and White Ball. It's still completely relevant, and describes in pretty good detail the many people that were a direct influence on his life.
